The Ferry Women of Duwamish are a fascinating bunch. They are the women who row the boats across to the Isle of Ancestors where the dead enjoy eternal life. The Ferry Women are each ancestral women, women who have knowledge and wisdom that every heroine needs.
Maybe someone will take up the challenge and create portraitures for them.
Choose a Ferry Woman and give her oxygen so that she can live amongst us.

Where’d you find a white raven?
This pic is just a joy!
Love the pics Heather, talk about style!

Your pictures are amazing! I love the expression on your Ferry Woman’s face. Wonder if I could try and write her story……will give it a try!
I don’t think that’s a raven. It looks like my brown pelican.
ROFLO faucon. Lori is right. It is her brown pelican. All the spirit birds will appear in this series. So make sure I know what birds are meant to be here folks. And Edith! That would be wonderful if you did write her story. I am scouring old National Geographics for characters and this lady is a pure joy. I love her to bits.
love Heather
Dare I hope for a brooding dragon or solemn penguin to appear?? I have both as Spirit Guides, both with their own sybolism. Hmmmmmnnnnnhhhh… perhaps that is another post brewing!!
By the way love, I have so enjoyed watching your Spirit emerge through your artwork. Fearless, determined, imaginative, and blessed with a quiet joy that survives everything that has been thrown at you.
God and Goddess bless you sweetie!
Heather – your gifts continue – I am really understanding more and more the generosity of the Advent Calendar…
